I offer on-location and in-home portrait sessions shot with natural light, as well as photography for events and weddings. Click here for wedding pricing or contact me with details of other events (anniversaries, milestone birthday celebrations, etc.) that you might be planning for a quote.
My session fees are all-inclusive, which means that a single fee covers my time at the shoot, retouching all of the images and a USB of the digital files for printing and sharing. Any of the following hour-long portrait sessions are available for a single fee of $150*:
A session just for the two of you to express how you feel about one another and show others the connection that makes you the perfect pair. Looking for engagement portraits? I offer a free engagement session when booking wedding photography!
Family (up to 5 people, each additional person is $10)
These are usually my favorite sessions to do, because I can incorporate a variety of shots – some with the whole family as well as individuals and groupings, such as siblings. If there are multiple generations available, I welcome them too!
Maternity and Gender Reveal
Capture that glow with pictures as you show off your beautiful bump and/or announce which gender your expecting. Dad is welcome and encouraged to participate! Keep in mind the best time for these sessions is between 34 and 36 weeks. Here are a few more things to consider before your session.
Preserve this fleeting moment so you remember just how tiny and perfect your baby is years from now. We can focus solely on portraits of the baby or document the little moments of your interactions with him/her in a lifestyle session. Or we can do a mixture of both! Learn more about the difference between these styles and how to prepare for both.
Cake Smash & Little Artist
A great way to celebrate your child’s 1st or 2nd birthday, these sessions provide standard portraits of your little one along with a bit of fun. Cake Smash sessions end with your child being presented with a cake just for them to experience, which creates many unique expressions and reactions. Little Artist sessions end with providing your child with a blank canvas and paints to create a unique masterpiece that can be hung in their room as a keepsake. Make your child’s session stress free with these tips.
Most of these sessions can also be scheduled as 30-minute “Mini Sessions” for just $100*. (Due to the need for set-up and clean-up, Newborn and Cake Smash or Little Artist sessions must be scheduled for a minimum of 1 hour.)
Your session fee includes a set of digital images from your sitting, each edited at high resolution in both color and black & white on a USB, along with a print release allowing you to use your images any way you choose. Hour long sessions are guaranteed a minimum of 20 poses and USBs are typically ready about 2 weeks after your session. Half-hour mini sessions provide a minimum of 10 poses in the same time frame.
If you require a faster turnaround, there is a $50 expedite fee to receive your photos within 7 days. If you need a second USB, either at the time of your session or later on as a replacement, it’s just an additional $10.
I accept cash, check (payable to Jenna D’ Photography), money order, cashier’s checks and most major credit cards. Custom packages, payment plans and bartering options are available. No client will ever be turned away due to financial struggles. Please don’t be afraid to contact me if you are worried about your ability to pay, because I am sure we can design a win-win agreement.
What to expect:
My style is a combination of posed shots and candid captures. I like to incorporate both because it provides frame worthy portraits while also documenting the little things that you cherish. Although I will have a set of poses already planned for your session I am open to suggestions, so please share them.
Sessions typically involve walking around to different areas of the selected location for a variety of backgrounds in your photos. Because Alaska’s weather is unpredictable, we may schedule a tentative 2nd day and time as a weather back-up. If the weather looks unsuitable the day of your scheduled session, I will contact you prior to your appointment to confirm that we are rescheduling.
What to wear:
- Simple garments always photograph best, so avoid clothing with excessive prints or large logos.
- Groups can wear matching outfits for a monochromatic look or go for complementary colors, either option provides great visual interest in photos.
- Medium shades complement portraits done in outdoor environments.
- Turtle necks or V-necks are flattering provided that neither is exaggerated in style. Avoid very wide or particularly deep V-neck garments as well as bulky cowl neck sweaters that completely hide your neck.
- Special note about hair: Men should have their hair cut about one week before the portrait session. Women should be photographed whenever they are happiest with their hair in relation to the time it is styled.
I welcome pets at any type of session, as long as they are controllable. I will do my best to incorporate them into as many shots as possible, however you are responsible for managing and cleaning up after your pet.
Scheduling and Locations:
I prefer to schedule sessions on the weekends, but also have limited availability weekday evenings from spring into late fall. I can suggest convenient locations based on the type of session, the number of people in your party and what backgrounds you’d like, or you can request a location that has a special meaning to you. Please remember that weather, tides and time of day will factor into the final decision on location selection. A mileage fee may apply if the location requested requires additional travel time such as areas south of Bird Point or North of Big Lake.
Except for weather related cancellations (see above), notice must be given no later than 2 hours prior to your session. There is a $30 fee for no-shows.
* Prices are subject to change at any time, without notice.
