Sandy and Carolyn came all the way from Australia to elope in Alaska – the second couple I’ve worked with to do that! They planned this simple ceremony to make their union official as part of a grand vacation including a cruise and traveling across North America. The one thing they hadn’t planned for was witnesses for the ceremony, but as luck would have it, a large tour group was willing to delay their departure from Bird Point to witness their union and gathered around to share in the joy. We bumped into several of those same tourists later on atop Alyeska’s ski hill where the bride and groom posed for some beautiful scenic portraits and then ended the day with an intimate dinner at the 7 Glaciers restaurant. They were so fun to be around, light-heartedly teasing each other throughout the day, enjoying the moment and grinning like school children. I’m so happy to see that they’ve found the one that makes their heart sing at this point in their life. I was honored to be a part of their special celebration and help them surprise their family back home with the news!
